In a situation where an investment needs to be written off fully or partially, there are several options depending on the type of investment.
Shares, ETFs, Bonds etc.
When you are sure that investment will not recover in the future then use following method:
- Go to the investment page;
- Click “Enter a new Trade or Adjustment”;
- Choose a date when the investment should be written off;
- Choose “Sell” as transaction type;
- Set the number of shares you own as the quantity;
- Set price 0;
- Click “Create”;
When there is a chance that investment can recover and it is a custom (manually created investment) then you can set the price as zero:
- Go to the investment page;
- Click “Manage price”;
- Choose a suitable date;
- Set price as 0;
- Click “Create”;
Loans
- Go to the investment page;
- Click “Enter a new Trade or Adjustment”;
- Choose a date when the loan should be written off;
- Choose “Writeoff” as transaction type;
- Set the loan amount you want to write off;
