April has been a busy month for the Portfellow team! We’ve been laser-focused on smoothing out your daily workflows, refreshing our design for a cleaner user experience, and squashing a few pesky bugs in our import tools.
Here is a summary of everything new and improved in Portfellow this month.
🎨 Design & User Experience (UX) Upgrades
We’ve made several visual and structural changes to make navigating Portfellow feel more intuitive and less cluttered:
Redesigned "Add" Flows: We completely overhauled the flows for adding new investments and cash accounts. The "Add new investment" screen now seamlessly merges the search and manual entry options, complete with a quick-access dropdown for your top 5 most popular instruments. We also aligned the widths of our wizard cards across the app for a more consistent look.
Accounts & Settings Refresh: The "Accounts" detail and "Settings" pages got a facelift. We moved the settings tabs from vertical to horizontal to maximize your screen space and reorganized the connection information so it's easier to read and manage.
Smoother Onboarding: Based on user feedback, we improved the multi-step onboarding progress. When importing files, the screen will now automatically scroll to the bottom so you never miss the "Next Step" button. We also added clearer indicators so you always know exactly which portfolio you are actively working on.
⚙️ New Features & Workflow Improvements
We want Portfellow to do the heavy lifting for you, so we’ve added more powerful automation tweaks:
Smarter Mapping Rules: You can now map the Transaction Type alongside the instrument. This means Portfellow can auto-categorize even more of your data, drastically reducing the number of transactions that end up in the manual review pile. We also expanded the condition text field so you can easily read longer mapping rules.
Cleaner Custom Asset Names: Manually created instruments (like personal loans) will no longer default to the confusing internal "EUR:OTHER" code in your search modals. They will now display clearly by the name you give them.
🐞 Bug Fixes & Data Import Enhancements
Accurate data is the heart of Portfellow. We resolved several bugs to ensure your imports work flawlessly:
Lightyear Tax Fix: Fixed an issue where Lightyear CSV imports were not taking the tax amounts into account for "LEI ORDER" transaction types.
Pensionikeskus Import Upgrades: Added support for importing "Osakute tagasivõtt" (swapping of fund parts) which were previously missing. We also improved the importer to handle different file encodings, filter out irrelevant booking lines, and support recent pension fund name changes.
Duplicate Transaction Prevention: Fixed a logic bug where combining a 90-day bank integration with a full historical CSV upload would create duplicate transactions.
Account Management & Mapping Fixes: Resolved a bug that prevented users from successfully accepting account edit management rights, and fixed an "Instrument not found" error that occasionally blocked users from creating new mapping rules.
